The former Italian and European champions suffered a shock 1-0 home loss to Turkish side Trabzonspor in their opening Group B match in the Champions League on Wednesday, which came at the back of a 4-3 away defeat to Palermo in their first game of the new Serie A season at the weekend.

Gian Piero Gasperini's team were criticised after going down in Sicily on Sunday and have come under more pressure following their embarrassing result in Europe. Zanetti admits that Inter are going through a "difficult" time but insists that they have what it takes to stage a quick recovery.

The veteran Argentine said: "Unfortunately we didn't manage to finish, and with only one shot on goal they scored. The only thing to do is put our heads down and work. This is a difficult moment; we've suffered two defeats that we didn't expect and didn't deserve either.u00a0"I hope the fans understand. That way we'll all get out of this together. We all stand together when we win, and we have to do the same thing now."
