New Year event organisers will have to do with TV actors and Bollywood starlets as most of the A-lister have taken off on personal trips to ring in 2016
Event organisers across the country have been competing with each other to dish up the best before revellers as the New Year dawns. However, unlike previous years, hardly any A-lister will perform at year-end bashes — most big names have taken off on personal trips to ring in 2016.
So, now, the organisers are having to content themselves with television actors or Bollywood starlets. Some have managed to rope in well known singers to take the stage, but the celeb quotient for this New Year's Eve parties remains rather lacklustre. An event co-coordinator says, "B-Town faces are always in demand for festive bashes in smaller cities and overseas, but this year, the celebrity line-up is not so attractive."

Chitrangada Singh is set to perform in Dubai for which she is appaently being paid Rs 20-25 lakh
Chitrangda Singh, who is gearing up to perform at a year-end party for the first time (in Dubai), says, "I am excited about celebrating the beginning of the year with my audience." Also leaving for the city are TV actor Sara Khan, singer Abhijeet Sawant and item girl Shefali Zariwala.
Richa Chadda
Richa Chadda is set to regale the crowd in Delhi. She tells us, "I have prepared a special performance for Delhites and I am sure they will like it."
Daisy Shah
Daisy Shah, who debuted with Salman Khan in Jai Ho (2014), will perform in Mumbai. "I am looking forward to celebrate the New Year with Mumbaikars and kick off 2016 with a bang," she gushes.
Karishma Tanna
Mannara will take the stage at a Bengaluru event, Sonalli Seygall in Ahmedabad, telly actress Sandeepa Dhar will perform in Surat and Karishma Tanna in Pune. TV couple Gurmeet Choudhary and Debina Bonnerjee are headed to Kolkata. Ishita Dutta, who featured in Ajay Devgn-starrer Drishyam, will be seen performing in Nagpur.
Says Mannara, "I was really happy when I was approached to perform for a New Year’s eve bash since I love dancing and have worked on many dance shows earlier."
Shankar, Ehsaan and Loy
Musician trio Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy will perform at a theme park in city outskirts. Ex Indian Idol contestants Prajakta Shukre and Priyanka Negi are heading to Goa and Jamshedpur respectively.
