State govt will run MHA, says sports minister Padmakar Valvi
Even as former players, current Mumbai Hockey Association Ltd (MHAL) office bearers and Hockey Maharashtra general secretary Cdr Kehar Singh all eagerly await the fate of the MHA Hockey Stadium that is slated to be taken over by the State government soon, Maharashtra’s Minister of Sports and Youth Welfare Padmakar Valvi has told MiD DAY that he has his specific plans in mind for the venue.

“There are too many things going on simultaneously at the MHA. I want to make it clear that the Maharashtra government will run the MHA. It will not be given to any third party,” Valvi told MiD DAY yesterday. “The state has the necessary funds and schemes in place to bring back the pride associated with our national game,” added Valvi.
However the minister clarified that the government will be open to talks with all factions in the fray. “We are open to discussions with all the parties concerned and will take their inputs to run the show,” he added.u00a0
