“I am not satisfied with the ongoing police investigation, since the cops have been unsuccessful in arresting Aftab Patel and his associates. All the interiors from the car have been badly damaged and several parts are missing,” he said, adding, “I want justice and I want my car back just as it was.”

A man named Aftab Patel, who has been externed from Mumbai and Thane for committing various crimes in the past, had duped the actor in October. On Tuesday, Patel sent his lawyer to the Charkop Police station to surrender the car to the police.

The actor alleged that his car was returned in a damaged condition, with several broken interior fixtures. He says that certain parts of the car have been stolen as well

The car was stolen in October after Sahil’s sister Shaista put an advertisement for the sale of the Mercedes on an online portal. Responding to the advertisement, Patel called Shaista on October 8 and met her at Kandivli in the evening. He said he wanted a test drive. The purchase price for the car was fixed at Rs 42 lakh.

Patel came for the test drive on October 9 with three or four friends. He fixed the deal after the test drive and handed over Rs 50,000 as token amount to Khan’s driver Arshad Ansari. Later, he told Shaista over the phone that he would pay the entire amount in a couple of days.

Shaista asked him to deposit the balance amount (Rs 41.5 lakh) in her bank account. The next day, on October 10, Patel came with one of his friends near the actor’s house in Kandivli (West), requesting another test drive. Khan’s driver brought the car and gave it to Patel for a test drive at 8 pm.

The police said that Khan had alleged in his statement that Patel had fled with the car during the second test drive. The driver tried Patel’s number several times, but when he did not respond, he informed the actor and his sister about the incident. The actor then approached the Charkop police and registered a case of theft against Patel and his colleagues.
