In its third edition Summer Fiesta will feature 20 workshops and 7 plays. Here's our pick of four must-attend events for the week

Summertime fun

The Summer Fiesta was started by the National Centre for the Performing Arts (NCPA) in 2010 to inspire creativity, encourage learning skills and provide entertainment. It helps children learn various performing arts during their vacations in an informal environment. The month-long workshops span theatre, dance, creative writing and craft. The objective is to draw children to spaces they might not otherwise venture to: performance spaces. Read on to find out the must-attend events over the next few days.

Zinga Zinga Roses
This play is about Zinga’s Planet Sesor which gets invaded by the evil Yago and his army. The invaders are on the hunt for the immortal Rose of Sesor. Little Zinga manages to escape with the prized rose. Follow Zinga and his friend Pi in a series of adventures where we meet the gardener Ha chi, politician Rosa Golla and many more characters in this delighful tale.

In Nature’s Wonderland With Sanctuary Cub
Environmental activist and writer Bittu Sahgal will interact with children and shed light on the initiatives being taken to protect tigers. There will also be a poster making competition being judged by him. There will be face painters, a slide show and a fancy dress competition with prizes and certificates. For kids aged 10 to 12 years.
On: May 16, 4.30 pm to 6 pm
At: AV Room, NCPA.

Green Walk and Talk
Botanist Hemanth Tripathi will take you on a walk around the premises of the NCPA and introduce you to the living flora and fauna. So come along and learn a few important things about plants. After the walk, there will be a sketching competition where the best sketch will receive a prize.

Stories of Krishna
Understand Kathak with Seema Mehta in a workshop that focuses on the stories of mischievous Lord Krishna. This workshop uses live musical accompaniments, Kathak techniques, and will conclude with a final performance for parents on the last day. The workshop is for kids aged 5 to 14 years.
