Narrow escape The building's watchman Shankar Bhoir (50) was admitted to Bhabha hospital after sustaining deep cuts on his legs and back.

His condition is currently stable.u00a0Speaking to MiD DAY, Bhoir said, “Around 8.30 pm, I was sitting right next to the gate with my back faced to the building when all of a sudden a portion of the building collapsed.”u00a0



The next thing Shankar remembers is rubble falling on him and him being put in an ambulance. “I’ve been working as cleaner and part-time watchman for the car showroom on the ground floor for the last two and a half years,” he added.u00a0


Injured
A firefighter Vishal More injured his right leg while rescuing people at the site on Monday night. He is currently undergoing treatment at the same hospital.

A 45-year-old unidentified male was admitted in an unconscious state to BMC-run Sion hospital while one more injured person, Sunil Mishra (38), a watchman at the building’s Maruti showroom, had been taken to Parel’s KEM Hospital with head injuries. Doctors at the hospital said that his condition is stable.
