Taapsee Pannu, who delivered a knock-out performance in last year's Pink, is delighted to have Akshay Kumar on board for an extended cameo in her next, Naam Shabana. It's a prequel to the star's 2015 film, Baby, in which she had a bit role.

Discussing bagging a meatier role than Akki in the same film, she says, "I like this role reversal. It's amazing that a superstar like him decided to back the film. He could have refused to do a cameo given the work he is doing, but he supported the project. Though he has a small role, he is completely involved. He called me up during my prep, and complimented me when the first poster released. He is honest with feedback."

Taapsee says there was no plan for a prequel, but when her character in Baby received a positive response, director Neeraj Pandey decided to make a film on Shabana. Before the Shivam Nair-directed project, which portrays her journey as an undercover agent, hits screens, the actress will be seen in Amit Roy's Amit Sadh-starrer, Running Shaadi and The Ghazi Attack, featuring Rana Daggubati, Kay Kay Menon and Atul Kulkarni. She will also star alongside Varun Dhawan in the comic caper, Judwaa 2, the sequel to Salman Khan's 1997 film.

"It's an interesting phase in my career. I am glad all my films belong to different genres. Judwaa 2 comes as a refreshing change after two intense films. I have grown up watching the original film and can't wait to show my latkas and jhatkas to Tan Tana Tan and Oonchi Hai Building," she says.
