Director, whose next film is a thriller, feels this genre is now being appreciated by the audience

His earlier films may have been romances but now Aditya Dutt is more into thrillers. The Aashiq Banaya Aapne director’s upcoming film starring Rajeev Khandelwal and Tena Desae belongs to this genre. And boy is he nervous! “It is not my forte, however if you looked at the trend I feel that my film can connect with the audience.

However films like Talaash have opened new avenues because big name like Aamir Khan and Kareena Kapoor are part of it. We have not managed to explore this genre to the fullest therefore if any movie in the same category gets a positive response, it is a boost to every filmmaker to take it up.”

On why he did not cast any big star in the film, he says, “I have worked with Emraan Hashmi in the past but this role was not suitable for him. I was searching for an actress who can look like the girl nextdoor. I had seen Tena in The Best Exotic Marigold and I loved her part so I chose to cast her.”
