Nagercoil: A woman employee of the anganwadi centre at Melakaatu vilai near here has been arrested for allegedly causing burn injury on the cheek of a two-and-a-half-year-old girl with a hot spoon, police today said.
Police said the girl told her father, an ex-armyman, that the employee, Banumathi, had burnt her cheek with a hot spoon.

When he questioned the employee, she asked him not to make it an issue. However he treated his daughter a the military clinic and complained to police.
A case was arrested and the woman arrested under various IPC sections, including cruelty to children.
