Created by MajorGainz.com, the app provides updates on all the latest happenings in the stock markets in India as well as live updates on the performance of various stocks across benchmark indices such as Nifty, BSE and Sensex among others.
The app is available for free download on Play Store and comes with an easy to follow layout. It is divided into two sections: one is News, where it gives you regular updates on the latest happenings from the stock markets and the other is Market, where it offers the movements of various benchmark indices such as Sensex and Nifty and other major indices like Small Cap, Mid Cap, and sectors like banking, auto, manufacturing.

The app offers a live intraday graph on each index along with a list of trending stocks and the top five losers and gainers. You can browse through these indices by just selecting them on the app.
What we love the most about MarketSum is its short and crisp news items on the financial markets. None of the boring jargon-heavy chatter, just plain news in 100 words, and in a way everyone can understand. Navigating through news items is also easy as you can swipe up and down through news items. And should you require a detailed report, a single tap will open the long version of the report.
The news section also offers daily alerts, market analysis, trends and reports on the market along with market opening and closing information. Besides, unlike some other apps, each news item here mentions time and date of publishing.
We, however, would have preferred an option to select or at least prioritise news from industries, companies and indices of choice, perhaps a list of favourites. An industry or company specific alert system would work too.
They could also improve in terms of chart placements in news items, as some seemed off the grid. The market indices, are a little slow to load. We also like that the app doesn’t ask us to sign up to access the services. However, despite the minor flaws, its news reports are worth a read.
