Teenager gangraped in Delhi; manhunt launched for accused

An 18-year-old girl was allegedly raped by two of her acquaintances, who took her to a secluded place on the pretext of celebrating her birthday, police said today

New Delhi: An 18-year-old girl was allegedly raped by two of her acquaintances, who took her to a secluded place on the pretext of celebrating her birthday, police said today.

Police have registered a case of gangrape against the duo after the victim registered a complaint at R K Puram Police
Station last night and efforts are on to trace them.

According to the girl's complaint, the two accused befriended her after assuring her of providing a job through a
placement agency.

"It was her 18th birthday yesterday and the two men took her with them on the pretext of celebrating it and gangraped
her," said a police official quoting the victim's complaint.

The girl was sent for a medical examination and a manhunt has been launched to nab the accused.
