Three teenage footballers face manslaughter charges for allegedly beating a Dutch linesman to death, the public prosecutor said yesterday, with all this weekend's youth matches cancelled
Holland is in shock after Richard Nieuwenhuizen (41) died on Monday, the Dutch football federation KNVB said.
Nieuwenhuizen was taken to hospital after being beating followed the final whistle on Sunday. “Two 15-year-olds and a 16-year-old from Amsterdam will appear on charges of manslaughter, assault and public violence,” a statement from the prosecutor's office said.
