Hemant Dubey, co-accused in the multi-crore counterfeit stamp paper scam along with mastermind Abdul Karim Telgi, is once again in the spotlight for the wrong reasons.
This time, he and his family have been accused of taking the thumb impression of his father Surya Narayan Dubey after his death on a forged will.

station. Her in-laws have already applied for anticipatory bail.
The matter came to light when Surya Narayan's daughter-in-law Rupali Dubey filed a complaint at Amboli police station on December 22, 2011.
According to the complaint, Surya Narayan was suffering from cancer and doctors at various hospitals had stated in October 2011 that he would not survive for more than a year.
When family members (including Hemant, Rupali's husband Shailendra, Surya Narayan's daughters Veena Shukla, Savita Pandey and Smita Upadhyay) came to know about this they began coaxing the dying man into making a will. But Surya Narayan was not ready to comply.
On November 27, Surya Narayan (61) died at Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital. His body had reached his home by 6.15pm. Relatives, friends, family members and neighbours were gathered there.
During the condolence meet, Savita informed all those present that Shailendra wanted to do some rituals and bathe his father's body. It was here that the family members took the deceased's thumb impression on a forged will, alleges Rupali.
"I was shocked to see that Savita and her husband Ajay were holding up a blanket so that nobody could see Surya Narayan's body and my husband Shailendra was taking his thumb impression on some papers. Hemant was standing there," said Rupali.
"Surya Narayan was educated and was also an ayurvedic doctor by profession. Why would he put his thumb impression instead of signature on the will?" asked Rupali.
Bad ties
Rupali (26) is now residing at her father's house in Wadala. She got married to Shailendra on February 7, 2011. She claims that after several demands, her father Virendra Upadhyay gave her husband Rs 31 lakh in cash and a car worth Rs 21 lakh. She alleges that prior to the wedding she was told her husband had an MBA degree and was working with a multinational company.
Later, she found out that he was unemployed. She also accuses Shailendra of torturing her while making repeated demands for two residential flats and also some money for business.
Rupali later lodged an FIR against her husband and sister-in-laws at Amboli police station under sections 498(a), 504, 323, 506 (1) (2), 406 and 114 of IPC.
"We have received Rupali's complaint about the thumb impression. The matter is under investigation. We have recorded Shailendra's statement where he has rejected the charges. The family has also moved to Sessions court seeking anticipatory bail in the dowry case," said VS Rajage, sub-inspector, Amboli police station.
Who's Hemant Dubey?
On December 8, 2000, one Prahlad Singh was caught red-handed while supplying counterfeit stamp paper. During investigations Singh told the Special Investigation Team (SIT) that the fake stamp papers were supplied by Hemant Dubey. On May 21, 2001 Hemant Dubey was arrested. He is currently out on bail.
The other side
"She is a liar. What she is saying is completely wrong. She wants to harass our family members. If she wants to she can get false complaints registered against us. She has no proof to substantiate her accusations," said Shailendra Dubey, Rupali's husband.
"The matter is settled now," claimed Hemant.
