The first time Anubhav Sinha and Taapsee Pannu collaborated for a film, it was the 2018 courtroom drama, Mulk, a dark, daring and disturbing film about the plight a Muslim faces in India. It not only did well commercially but also sparked a debate on social media about what it takes to be from the neighboring nation and reside in this country.

Two years later, both reunite for another film, where we see another courtroom battle, and this time for a woman's right and her fight for justice. The film is titled Thappad, and a woman refuses to bog down to her husband's unpredictable outburst and refuses to forgive him for slapping her out of a fit of rage. Others may adjust, she won't.

The trailer itself showed immense potential and promise in the premise, so expect something more powerful in the complete picture. And as this drama was screened across multiple screenings, the audience couldn't help but cheer and clap and give this piece of work a standing ovation. Pannu even shared a video on her Twitter account that shows this could be the film of the year. Take a look:

All set to release on February 28, Thappad could make a lot of noise at the box-office.
