Delhi University's placement drive will begin from October 26. Students can also register online

Delhi University is all set to begin its placement drive from October 26. Several incidents like DUTA (Delhi University Teachers Association) strikes, semester system debates and Commonwealth fiasco have kept students busy in unproductive work. Now, students can look forward to something they have been waiting for all these years i.e. jobs.

Students can either collect the forms from the Central Placement Cell (CPC) or register online till October 15, which would be the last day for registration.

The good news is several government and private sector units are expected to hire Delhi university pass-outs this year. Students from all Delhi University colleges are eligible to register for placements.

Open to all

"The placement drive will begin soon. Some of the best MNCs of the country would be here to give students great job offers. All final year students shouldu00a0 make the most of this opportunity. It is an initiative made by the varsity, which the students have to grab," said Prof Deepak Pental, Vice-Chancellor of Delhi University.

"I have registered in the placement unit. I am a literature student and unlike engineering or medical students, jobs do not come easy to us. But the university placement cell have a number of options, apart from the conventional ones," said Robin Matthew, final year student at Kirorimal College.

Companies offering placements go through the profiles of the students according to the respective disciplines. The selected candidates are sent mail alerts and called for interviews later.

The university placement cell has made recruitments functional for even students who are enrolled in part-time courses affiliated to the varsity. Last year, approximately 7000 students had registered in the University Placement Cell.
