Visitors can view over 200 cartoons including new works of cartoonist RK Laxman

From India’s first Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru to our current Prime Minister, Manmohan Singh; visitors can view over 200 cartoons including new works of cartoonist RK Laxman. This will be a part of the 21st edition of the Indian Masters Retrospective that begins at the Nehru Centre from today.

The collection also includes caricatures of well-known political figures from the US, UK, and African countries including South Africa’s former president Nelson Mandela, who passed away a few days back. The show, curated by Nina Rege, assistant director, Nehru Centre Art Gallery, will also include Laxman’s popular series of cartoons called, You Said It and will be attended by Laxman. The show will witness the launch of a new book, Finely Exaggerated, based on the works of the artist.
