We found a children’s book that we just couldn’t put down. The Case Of The Missing Tiger Cub published by Good Earth is an enchanting read that brings out the child in you. Though there are few options available in children’s literature that talk about nature conservation and send out a serious message, it is the storytelling in this one that we found refreshing.

The story is set in the jungles of Madhya Pradesh and talks about a spirited jungle girl, Arrowgirl, and a shy boy from the city, Rainbow Raghavan who meet in Bandhavgarh to find a missing tiger cub. Author Kalpana Subramanian’s wit and the hand-drawn water colour illustrations by Prashant Miranda are engaging. We were drawn into this wild encounter and enjoyed the non-preachy narrative that made the characters entertaining, identifiable and likeable.
