Five-time world boxing champion and Olympic bronze medalist Mary Kom shares her style essentials with Dhara Vora
You might recognise her in her vest and boxing shorts, knocking the life out of her opponents. But post her Olympic medal win, boxer MC Mary Kom has been making several appearances on the red carpet and at big-ticket events, dressed in classy dresses or smart jackets, with a stylish fringe in place.
Recently, she made heads turn when she walked the ramp for designer Manish Malhotra’s line for an NGO, which had featured the likes of several regulars including Priyanka Chopra, Malaika Arora Khan and Sonakshi Sinha.

What is your general style sense?
Casual, relaxed and comfortable. To wear what makes me feel at ease.
When in doubt of what to wear, what do you blindly wear knowing it won’t go wrong?
Jeans / trousers and a top.
What is the most in numbers, in terms of items that we will find in your wardrobe?
A large variety of tops.
Any style icon? Your favorite place to shop at?
Not really, for both questions. I like nice clothes but mainly I choose to wear what makes me happy and not what others tell me to wear. I am happy to shop at a roadside stall and at malls — it’s all about the clothes.
Your most interesting buy from London while at the Olympics?
Ski Board and BEN 10 Scooter!

A black dress.
