Time-strapped folk can rejoice. Give up scouting through hordes of stores and street markets for your favourite film poster or Rock band from the 1970s. With just a click, online store offers you all of this and much more to choose from

All of us have grown with rooms filled with posters of our favourite bands or film and TV stars. However, in this day and age when everything is available over the Internet, why trudge along countless shops or explore dingy markets for that perfect poster. To make life easier for such poster-starved folk, four Delhi-based youngsters launched an e-store called that not only offers a wide range of posters to choose from but also provides cash-on-delivery facility for its client base.

“Back in college we wanted to own a whole lot of merchandise of our favourite bands/movie stars or sport a badge to show how big a fan we were. But we either had to scour the dingy bylanes of a local market or request our NRI cousins to get us fan stuff from abroad. We knew there was an untapped market, so, it all rested on our ability to create a great product that people could identify with. We wanted to make something, which in turn could cater to a larger market need. Hence, was launched by the end of May,” says Bharat Sethi co-founder of the website, who heads the operations and strategy department.

The products on the website start at R149 and go up to R1,100. Sethi informs us that they typically take between 24 to 48 hours for dispatch. “The delivery time is dependent on the pin codes because we serve pan-India. Usually for metros, it takes about three days for delivery.”

While most of their posters and merchandise such as key chains, badges and tattoo packs are top picks, posters featuring Pink Floyd, Pulp Fiction, Sheldon Cooper, Manchester United, The Beatles, Coldplay, Batman, Family Guy, Minimal art, gaming, lifestyle and photography collections fly off their shelves.

“Ever since we launched, we have seen a consistently growing traction. People buy posters, and fan merchandise, and return for more. The repeat transactions rate is over 15%. The reason is that everyone has an emotional connect with some brands in their lifetime, and allows you to choose merchandise from a selection of your favourite brands under one roof along with a hassle-free experience of buying,” assures the co-founder.

Reality check
However, Sethi maintains that launching a start-up is not a piece of cake. After kickstarting their company was bootstrapped for a while, but the traction and low customer acquisition cost made them profitable in the second month itself. “The concept and extremely neat execution attracted plenty of investor interest in the business. We won the BITS All India Start-up Challenge; there’s been no looking back since then. We are now mentored by The Hatch, which provides mentoring, knowledge resources, infrastructure and funding of R10 lakhs to support us,” says Sethi, who started with Anuvi Srivastava, Utsav Marwaha and Mahesh Jhakotia.
