Thane: A 32-year-old man was allegedly killed by three persons of a family in the district over a petty scuffle, police said on Thursday.


Assistant police inspector of Padgha Police Station JM Bhosle said the incident occurred last evening over a scuffle between two parties at Borivili village in Padgha taluka.


The tiff broke out when victim, Yasim Nasikkar's (32) sister while passing through a lane in the village at around 8:30 pm, had a heated argument with the three men present at the spot. She later returned home and apprised about the tiff to her brother.


Yasim then approached the three men to confront them over the matter but the latter allegedly started bashing him up, the officer said, adding, as result of severe injuries, Yasim died on the spot.

The accused were identified as -- Maksad Kaskar, Nishant Kaskar, and Mazena Kaskar -- and no arrests have been so far, he said.

The body of the victim has been sent for postmortem and an offence under Section 302 (murder), 307 (attempt to murder), 324 (voluntarily causing hurt by dangerous weapons), 504 (intentional insult) rw 34 (common intention) of the IPC has been lodged against the three persons.
