An eve-teasing incident triggered a clash between two groups who opened fire at each other, injuring three persons, police said today.
The incident took place at Ganga Kartik Mela being organised in Garhmukteshwar, 80 kms from here, last night when one Rajiv allegedly passed derogatory remarks at a woman, they said.
Following the incident, Rajiv was attacked by a group while he was with his family in a tent, the police said, adding that both the groups exchanged fire resulting in injuries to the three persons.
The injured were rushed to a nearby hospital. Meanwhile, in a similar incident at the fair, an 18-year-old boy Praveen, a resident of Haryana, was stabbed by some persons for alleged eve-teasing.
He was rushed to Meerut Medical Collage where his condition was stated to be critical, police said.
