Pune: Trainer Altaf Hussain had a dream run at the races here today, winning four of the eight races on the card, including the grade 3, Akkasaheb Maharaj Trophy in which Dancing Prances ridden by A Sandesh to a thrilling half-length victory over Congressional (Neeraj Rawal up) and Adam (P Trevor up). Dancing Prances was available at 5-2 before receiving public support to close at 2-1.

Solomon (NS Parmar up) and Dancing Phonenix (Zervan up) set an extremely hot pace as starter flagged them off from the six-furlong marker, while Sandesh steered Dancing Prances from extreme outside gate to race in fourth position, albeit in the center of the track. As the two front runners started losing steam and Strategic Move (PS Chouhan up) moved up, Sandesh put Dancing Prances into top gear and soon assumed command, and with some hard riding, managed to keep the duo of Adam and Congressional at bay approaching with winning post as the winner started to show signs of fatigue.

Sandesh, in fact, partnered in three of the four winners saddled by Hussain, the other two being Alectar (Gironde Plate) and Shaoqing (Ramnus Plate - Div I). With another winner Severus for trainer B Prakash in the Macchupicchu Trophy, the jockey also scored a quadruple, thus sharing professional honours with the trainer.
