The Tribal Museum at Koregaon Road is a unique place which celebrates and preserves tribal artefacts.
The museum has arts, crafts and ornaments that are used by tribals and made by tribals.
On display are items made by 14 of the 45 tribes found in Maharashtra. The museum displays hundreds of different articles used by various tribal communities.
Also on display are installations showcasing the lifestyle of the tribal communities; we loved the display section dedicated to tribes from the Sahyadri and Gondwana regions of Maharashtra.
It features articles of daily use, ornaments, musical instruments, clothes, utensils, weapons, etc. It also houses images of deities, handicrafts done by tribes, paintings and other items related to tribal life and culture.
