Presumably, Siya Sawant has had a good night’s sleep. On Saturday, she spent a sleepless night, thinking about her 100m race in the Mumbai Schools Sports Association (MSSA) inter-school athletics meet.

Sleepless night
“I didn’t sleep the whole night since I kept thinking about today’s race. I wanted to win today and I am glad I did,” said Siya, who trains at Prabodhan Thackeray Sports Club (Goregaon) under coach Manisha Gawande. Gawande said that Siya has a great future if she works hard. “Currently, she is the best in her category. Siya has a lot of potential.”

Meanwhile, Our Lady of Salvation (Dadar) boys’ U-16 relay team clocked 46.2s to break the previous record of St Lawrence High School, (Kandivli) 47.4s set in 2000.
