When Team India takes the field against Australia in the one-day internationals (ODIs) in October, fans will get to see them in brand new uniforms.

India’s ODI squad has a new jersey by sports apparel company Nike, and it was unveiled on Monday on Twitter.

The Indian ODI team's new kit was unveiledu00a0on micro blogging site by the Board of Control for Cricket in Indiau00a0(BCCI).

The Indian board tweeted, "The new Team India kit is here @nikecricket."

Indian bowlers – pacer Umesh Yadav, and spinners Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja – also shared the new jersey on their Twitter pages.

Off-spinner R Ashwin tweeted, “Surprised a few young cricketers with the new India jersey. Sure was a dream come true for them! Thanks @nikecricket @bcci #BleedBlue”

While an 'excited' Yadav wrote on the micro blogging site, “The new India uniform from @nikecricket is here! Ye ladka khush ho gaya! @bcci #BleedBlue.”

"Got a glimpse of the new uniform! Loved it...and so did this kid.. @nikecricket @bcci #BleedBlue," Jadeja wrote on his twitter page.

The limited-overs section of Australia’s tour of India contains seven ODIs and a one-off Twenty20 International and commences on October 10.

Interestingly, Nike had launched a new Twenty20 kit for the Indian team in August last year. But a superstitious BCCI had ordered the team to wear the same jersey design that won them the 2011 World Cup for World Twenty20 in a bid to bring them good luck.

The move to drop the new jerseys came less than a month after they were unveiled last year.
