Lakhs of people from the Maratha community have held a protest in Mumbai on August 9, demanding reservations in government jobs and education. Started a year ago, the Maratha Kranti Morcha made its maiden entry in Mumbai today. As a result of the protest, several schools in South Mumbai were given a day off and several office-goers also decided to stay back at home.
