A 47-year-old man was beaten to death by two persons in Safdarjung area of south Delhi in the wee hours of Sunday

Two held for killing guard

A 47-year-old man was beaten to death by two persons in Safdarjung area of south Delhi in the wee hours of Sunday. A senior police official said that the deceased Khelanand Jha was a security guard and was working in Chankayapuri Area.

"Jha was passing through Maitri Mandir park along with a relative when two persons picked up an argument with him. The duo hit him with sharp-edged weapons. Jha received critical injuries and fell on the ground writhing in pain while the accused fled from the spot," said the police official.

His relative Naresh Kumar Jha rushed him to AIIMS trauma centre where he was declared brought dead. Police were then informed by hospital authorities. Cops said that an FIR of murder was lodged in this respect.
"We have arrested the two accused involved in the crime. Police is questioning them to find out the reason behind the murder," said a police official.
