Two talented comedians from Kolkata are in the city, to lift you when you are down, or add even more zing to a fun evening. Anirbhan Dasgupta, a well known stand-up comedian from Kolkata is one of the regulars with the only stand-up group in the city — Kalkutta Komedians. He will be joined by Vaibhav Sethia whose jokes he says are snippets, of what he calls “bookmark moments” from his life.

Dasgupta says about becoming a comedian, “It is actually a combination of many factors that made me a comedian. I hated my job, I had just got married and the fact that I always wanted my future children to grow up in poverty! (that’s the comedian speaking) The journey really, has been good so far, I met some of the most incredible people. It is an exciting time to be in comedy right now. In India, we are continuously learning and getting better.”

Vaibhav Sethia
While talking about the performance here Dasgupta adds, “It’s important for the audience to feel part of the show, so there is engagement with the crowd along with our own inputs.” He pointed out that, “I did my college in Pune. I love the city. In terms of comedy, I have done shorter bits here earlier, this is the first full show in the city. Really looking forward to it.”
Dasgupta concludes, “This will be the first show in Pune by comedians from Kolkata. So the audience is sure to get a fresh perspective. Our show has stories which everyone can relate to.”
