Two minor girls raped in Mumbai; accused held

Two rape cases of minor girls were registered in the city. The accused have been handed over to the police

In yet another shocking incident, a five-year-old girl was raped by a 30-year-old man. Rajesh Prabhakar raped the victim by luring her with chocolates. The incident happened yesterday after the parents had gone to work, leaving the kid at home, Prabhakar, the neighbour, entered the house, lured her with chocolates and ultimately raped her.

How he was nabbed
On further investigations by the locals in the area, the girl was found in a nearby slum area with Prabhakar. The accused was later taken to the nearby Bangur Nagar Police station where a rape case was filed against him. A police officer confirmed, “Medical test of the victim and accused will be conducted in Nagpada police hospital and Prabhakar will be produced in the court on Sunday.”

Youth rapes minor
In the second incident, a 17-year-old girl was raped by Irfan Sheikh, a 20-year old youth from Dharavi on May 25. Sheikh has been arrested by the Dharavi police yesterday and is under police custody. However, cops from Dharavi police station believe that the victim was in a relationship with Sheikh and had deliberately filed a case against him as he had refused to marry her.
