Mumbaikars need not worry about buses, trains, autorickshaws and cabs not being available during the proposed two-day nationwide shutdown.

Trade unions led by Hind Mazdoor Sabha president Sharad Rao will not be participating in the Bharat bandh proposed on February 20 and 21. All modes of transport will operate as usual.

Today, Rao announced that his unions will not be a part of the shutdown as Prime Minister Manmohan Singh has formed a 5-member commitee to look into their demands.

"The government has extended its hand to trade unions for the first time in many years. We will talk to the government and wait for another 3 months," said Rao.
