Keys, who beat Tereza Smitkova 6-1, 6-2 in Round two of the US Open on Wednesday, revealed an amusing encounter with a fan in Los Angeles recently.

"A woman recognised me as she was driving and hit her brakes and rolled the window down and screamed out of her window. She was freaking out, and I was like freaking out, and screaming my name and was like, 'I love you.' I'm like, 'OK. Don't crash. Bye.'

"I think that was probably the funniest encounter I have had," she said. The 20-year-old also revealed that she had experienced life from the other side too.

"Maybe I would stop on the street in LA for (Hollywood actor) Jennifer Lawrence. I saw (US reality TV star) Nicole Richie one day when she was with her kids.

I do have this bizarre love for Nicole. I was so nervous, I didn't even say anything. I just kind of like awkwardly stared at her for a while," she
admitted.
