US President's teleprompter stolen in Virginia

US President Obama's teleprompter, podium, presidential seals and $200,000 of audio equipment were stolen by thieves in Virginia yesterday.

A white truck containing the equipmentu00a0-- which was to be used by Obama at an event in Chesterfield, todayu00a0-- was parked at the Virginia Center Commons Courtyard Marriott when it was reportedly stolen.

The truck was recovered Monday afternoon near a local airport in the parking lot of a Holiday Inn Express. Witnesses said that they saw various law enforcement officials examining the truck.

"No classified or sensitive information was in the vehicle," said a Defense Information Systems Agency spokesperson adding, "We take incidents such as this very seriously and a formal investigation is continuing."

The truck apparently had no markings on it, leading to speculatations that the unknowing thieves may have returned the vehicle when they discovered what was inside.

The president is currently in North Carolina on the second day of a three-day bus trip to promote his American Jobs Act.

Meanwhile, US First Lady Michelle Obama helped renovate a wounded veteran's home to make it wheelchair accessible.

Sgt. Johnny Agbi's three-story rowhouse in northwest Washington, just blocks from the U.S. Capitol building, underwent a $100,000 renovation under a program called Heroes at Home.u00a0
