After Aamir Khan, Akshay Kumar, Alia Bhatt, Deepika Padukone and many other celebrities who took up the PadMan challenge, Varun Dhawan, and Anushka Sharma have also followed the same route and have posed with a sanitary napkin. They both have held one pad and smilingly posed for the cameras. Thus, shattering the taboo around menstrual cycle women undergo every month.

Varun posted the image and wrote, "Me and @AnushkaSharma just holding a pad no big deal. Best of luck @akshaykumar @sonamakapoor @radhika_apte for #PaDman. Nominating @karanjohar #katrina @iTIGERSHROFF . It was discussed and these are both our nominations!!! (sic)"

The two actors have now passed on the challenge to Karan Johar, Katrina Kaif, and Tiger Shroff! Well, Aamir had nominated Amitabh Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan, and Salman Khan. None of these three superstars have yet taken up the challenge. However, other celebrities who sportingly took up the challenge are Deepika Padukone, Sonam Kapoor, Anil Kapoor, Rajkummar Rao, Shabana Azmi, Radhika Apte, Twinkle Khanna, Ayushmann Khurrana, Aditi Rao Hydari, Diana Penty, Mouni Roy, Huma Qureshi and the list goes on and on.

Akshay Kumar's 'PadMan' revolves around a man who produces cost-effective sanitary napkins for the naïve women living in the remote areas and educating them about its importance. The film also has Radhika Apte and Sonam Kapoor in pivotal roles. Inspired by the life of Coimbatore-based Arunachalam Muruganantham, who found a way to make affordable sanitary napkins for women in his village, 'PadMan' is set to release on February 09, 2018. The film has been written and directed by R. Balki.
