The 736-metre-long and 11-metre-wide bridge was inaugurated by Palghar district Guardian Minister Vishnu Sawra and MLA Hitendra Thakur of Bahujan Vikas Aaghadi.

The inauguration was delayed by 15 days due to non availability of dates for senior BJP leaders. Work on the bridge started in 2009, and it has been completed to the tune of Rs 48 crores approximately.

This Rail Over Bridge (ROB) is meant to add to Vasai's infrastructural growth and relieve harried motorists.
