The third edition of the Rs 20 lakh Vasai-Virar Mayor's Marathon will be flagged of on October 27.
It is expected to attract the cream of the country’s long distance talent, along with thousands of serious, amateur participants from Mumbai, Thane, Navi Mumbai as well as the other districts and states in the country.
The men’s winners of the open full marathon will receive Rs 2 lakh while the corresponding cash prize for the men’s and women’s half-marathon champions has been set at Rs 1 lakh each.
The second and third place finishers in the men’s full marathon will receive Rs 1.1 lakh and Rs 60,000 respectively. To make the registration convenient, running enthusiasts can go online, the Mayor announced.
Online and physical registrations for the event will begin from August 19. Last date of registration is October 10. Online registrations can be done from the event website www.vvmcmayorsmarathon.com.u00a0
