Much has been known and revered about freedom fighter Veer Savarkar’s fight for the country and the struggles he faced when jailed in the Andaman Islands.

While Savarkar’s might as a writer was known, not many knew of his power over the Urdu language and this will now come to light with the release of Hum He Humare Wale, an album of songs and ghazals penned by him.

The music of the album has been created by Bharat Balvalli while the arrangements are by Anil Mohile. The album consists of eight songs and two ghazals penned by Savarkar, informs Ranjit Savarkar, Chairman of Swatantryaveer Savarkar Rashtriya Smarak, who discovered the manuscript containing the ghazals.

Another interesting facet to the album is the introduction given to every song by actor Amitabh Bachchan, which was penned by writer-director Ved Rahi.
