After its first song 'Ghoomar', which went on to register over 25 million views, the makers of epic period drama 'Padmavati' have unveiled the second song- 'an epic love ballad', titled 'Ek Dil Ek Jaan.' Featuring Deepika Padukone and Shahid Kapoor, the song encapsulates the romance shared between the two characters, Rani Padmavati and Maharawal Ratan Singh.

The song has been composed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali and sung by Shivam Pathak, with lyrics by A M Turaz. It promises to offer audiences a soulful melody that strongly reflects loyalty and an unbreakable bond of love. Soon after the release f the song, the 'xXx: Return of Xander Cage' star rook to her Twiiter handle and wrote, 'An epic love ballad...?? #EkDilEkJaan @FilmPadmavati'


The official handle of 'Padmavati' tweeted, "An epic love ballad between a brave king and a courageous queen. #EkDilEkJaan @deepikapadukone @shahidkapoor @Viacom18Movies @Bhansali_Prod @TSeries"

Deepika said, " Shahid and I have known each other for so many years but a special film like Padmavati brought us together onscreen. His contribution to this film is irreplaceable and amazing.'

'It was so important to have a very good actor with a strong screen presence and massive popularity to add to this film. Shahid Kapoor brought that with him,' she added. The 'Bajirao Mastani' star and the 'Rangoon' star have been paired opposite each other onscreen for the very first time in 'Padmavati.' The film is based on Rani Padmini, a legendary Hindu Rajput queen, mentioned in Padmavat, an Avadhi language epic poem, written by Sufi poet Malik Muhammad Jayasi in 1540. The movie, which also stars Ranveer Singh as Alauddin Khilji, is all set to hit the theatres on December 1.
