Korngold violin concerto was written in the 1940s when the composer. Erich Wolfgang Korngold, was already working in Hollywood. "The influence from the film scores are inevitable through the whole concerto, but one can clearly hear the harmonies, colours, and lyricism in this concerto, reflecting the composer’s youth back in Vienna in the beginning of 20th. All these elements coming from different stages of his life makes this piece so unique and brilliant," explains Zhu.
