A video clip of former Pakistan President Pervez Musharraf dancing with his wife Sehba at a private function has surfaced on the internet and gone viral on social media platforms.

According to several media reports, the dance took place at one of Musharraf's relatives' wedding ceremony. While the date of the video is not clear, the song the couple are seen dancing to was released last year. The former president, in brown kameez and white salwar, is seen shaking a leg on a popular Pakistani movie song "shakar wandan re" from the film 'Ho Mann Jahaan'.
The controversy is over the fact that the 73-year-old has allowed to leave Pakistan to get treatment for a backbone ailment in March 2016.
The video surfaced when prominent Pakistani journalist Hamid Mir shared it on Twitter and tagged Pakistan Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan seeking an explanation. “Attention Ch Nisar sb I hope Musharraf no more suffering from back pain u claimed he will come back in few weeks where is he these days? (sic),” he tweeted along with the video.

Musharraf was prevented from leaving Pakistan since April 2013, soon after he returned from a self-imposed exile and became embroiled in a series of legal cases, including a treason trial. But he was allowed to leave the country in March 2016 after Musharraf had contended that he needed surgery on his back that wasn't available in Pakistan.
The Pakistan interior minister had at that time said that the government didnt' prevent Musharraf from leaving on a Dubai-bound flight in order to seek medical attention overseas. Khan had said that the government had relented since the ex-President had promised to return "in four to six weeks" and to face all the cases against him.
Twitterati 'commended' the former president for having found a unique way to treat his back pain.
