VPM (Dahisar) emerged overall champions in the Mumbai Suburban District Athletic Championships that concluded at the Sports Authority of India (SAI) complex in Kandivli (East) yesterday
The champions garnered 171 points, thanks to their athletes who snared most of the medals on offer.
SAI and St Stanislaus, both finished with 65 points, were declared joint runners-up.

However, Sushmita Patil from the Vissanji Sports Academy hogged the limelight in the under-16 girls’ category with a pair of gold medals in the 200m and 400m.
Sushmita is the lone athlete to claim two gold medals in the meet. u00a0
