Who doesn't desire a home with intricate hand-painted patterns on the walls? While paintings come with a heavy price tag, there is now a fairly simpler way to give your walls a burst of colour and patterns that reflect your style and nature.

Concept-based wall decor that comes in a self-adhesive vinyl film is now no more than a click of a mouse away. Two IIT Bombay alumnus, after their respective stints in other industries, realised an organised retail platform for home decor wasn't available in the country.

One of them, as Ankur Muchhal, Director and Co-Founderu00a0of gloob.in, was exposed to vinyl decor during his days is New York.

The result was gloob. "We wanted tou00a0 have everything that can be clubbed under home decor on a single platform and provideu00a0 people something that would add colour to their lives and rooms.

Gloob, the word, makes no real sense except that it is a combination of glue and globe," says Ankur who runs gloob.in with co-director and Director, Technology Anil Gelra.

Headquartered at Mumbai, the website delivers across the country and even has a few offline dealers in Indore, Jaipur and Mumbai. The process is simple. Once you log onto the website, you pick a pattern of your choice after whichu00a0 you choose au00a0 colour from the options available and place an order.

The vinyl wall decor, better known as wall decals or gloobs, is delivered to your doorstep within seven working days along with an instruction kit that helps you install it on your own. Gloobs can also be peeled off walls when not in use and are maintenance free and have a life of five to seven years.

The six-month old endeavour has a bunch of 10 to 12 designers creating the patterns and plans to start up stores soon. "We have also added vinyl clocks and laptop graphic to our gamut and will be launching lamps and innovative furniture by early next year," says Ankur.

So, give your pastel walls the much needed peel off lift with flowery patterns, idols or quirky words and while you are at it let your laptop get stylish too.
