On October 27, two men on bikes killed Beena Dedhia and injured her husband Jatin while they were taking a morning walk.

The men robbed a gold chain and cash from the woman and her husband and slit her throat when she refused to part with her earrings.

While the police are on the lookout for the accused, bikers with injuries on their hand, are suspect.

Cops say that after killing Beena, the bikers had skid a few metres away, while trying to flee.

According to the eyewitness and police theory, one of them injured his hand.

R Kulkarni, investigating officer from Kalachowkie police station, said, "We searched a number of hospitals and clinics to check the records of people who were treated for an injured hand and also enquired with a number of people, who have a Yamaha bike and injured their hand."

According to a source, they have arrested a man in a robbery case, who is suspected to be behind the murder, but his associates have yet to be arrested. The man also has an injury on his hand.

However, said Baviskar, "We have yet not arrested anyone in this case. The investigation is on."

The police have till today questioned a number of chain snatchers, robbers and people with a criminal background.

In fact, accused in chain snatching cases are being questioned all over Mumbai by different police stations.
