Eleven three-year-olds are in the fray for the grade 1, Nanoli Stud Pune Derby, the stellar attraction of the Sunday races at the Pune racetack; but two of them--Cardinal & Picasso--trained by Pesi Shroff tower over their rivals on the strength of class, performance and current form. However, due to Shroff's suspension they will be saddled for the big race by MK Jadhav & Shyam Habbu respectively. The joker in the pack is Maddox, trained by another suspended trainer C D Katrak, and likely to be saddled by Adil Dajee. My vote goes to Cardinal.
