Dedicate your Sunday to cinema by attending the David Lynch Festival organised by the Enlighten Film Society. The American film director earned praise with his 1977 film, Eraserhead that blurred the boundaries of fantasy and horror.

He found success again, with The Elephant Man that earned eight Academy Award nominations, and won three BAFTAs. This is one of the three films to be screened here. Adapted from Frederick Treves’s The Elephant Man and Other Reminiscences, the story is set in 19th century London and is about a man with a deformed head.

Blue Velvet continues Lynch’s fix with surrealism, and is an erotic mystery. The third film Mulholland Drive (2001) is the the story of Betty Elms, an aspiring actress who befriends an amnesiac hiding in an apartment that belongs to her aunt.

A short film, Ekki Mukk, by Nick Abrahams, which tells the story of a man lost in the English countryside through moving art video, will also be screened.
