"We are not getting drinking water since one week. Women have to get up in the midnight and go to nearby places to fetch water. It becomes very difficult for them as there is no security and the area is generally unsafe," said Awayi.

"Even the 15 slums around the area mare facing the same problems since one week. Senior officers have visited the area and have visited us and have inspected the situation. They promised of providing water but so far nothing has been done. We will continue our protest until the water is supplied to our area," said Ramesh Kumar, a resident.

In this locality many of them have not washed their clothes and have not even taken a bath because of the scarcity. Lakshmi said, "We have purchased water from shops. This has become an additional burden for us. It is so bad that we'll have to be careful of using water in the future." "We will continue our protest even in the morning near the Town Hall," said Awayi.
