About West Bengal Board of Secondary Education (WBBSE):
The Board of Secondary Education was established in 1951 under State Legislature Act i.e. West Bengal Secondary Education Act of 1950. The Board was inaugurated on 3rd May 1951. The main operations of the board i.e. to control and develop secondary education of the State and also to conduct the School Final Examination were handled by Calcutta University.
Board was later renamed as West Bengal Board of Secondary Education in 1964, under the West Bengal Board of Secondary Education Act 1963. In 1951, WBBSE has taken over 1270 high schools from Calcutta University which were increased to 2312 by the end of 1963 and more than 8000 by the end of 1975 including some schools outside the territorial jurisdiction of the State. Currently 10238 numbers of schools are under board authority.
With the increase in the number of recognized schools, the examinees appearing in the Secondary Examination have increased. All sorts of examination and other administrative works such as management of schools are being done in the four Regional offices i.e. Kolkata, Burdwan, Midnapore and North Bengal from 1974.
West Bengal Board of Secondary Education (WBBSE) Examination and Results:
The West Bengal Board of Secondary Education (WBBSE) accustomed to conduct the Class 12th and class 10th Exam / Madhyamik Pariksha / SE Exam every year amid Feb and March. This year also the WBBSE has conducted WBBSE Madhyamik Pariksha (SE) Exams in the month of March 2014. Around 10, 50,959 students appeared for West Bengal Madhyamik Pariksha examination 2014.
Students must be eagerly waiting for the board results as their choices of streams for Class 12th completely depends on the scores they will achieve in the Class 10th board examination. Last year board has announced Madhyamik Pariksha result on 27th May 2013.
