Two-time Indianapolis 500 winner Dan Wheldon's death on Sunday in a fiery 15-car crash at the season-ending race on a 1.5-mile Las Vegas banked oval has raised driver safety concerns in IndyCar.

Brazilian racer Tony Kanaan said: "We need to rethink the way we are doing things. We're playing with lives here."
