Shop for authentic fabric at this handloom fair and get a wide variety of outfits to choose from

This festive season Dastakar Andhra brings to Pune its cotton handlooms fair from Andhra Pradesh. The fair is dedicated to women's wear and offers a wide range of pre-shrunk handwoven fabrics. You can shop for long kurtas, short kurtas, salwars, chudidars, dupattas and hand-block prints.

Lata, a member from the co-management team at Dastakar Andhra, says "Weaving is the second major source of livelihood in rural areas after agriculture, so Dastakar Andhra works with professional weavers from villages. Earlier only saris woven by the weavers were available, but this time we bring you hand-woven kurtas and duppatas as well."

There will be two sections at the fair including an off the loom section which will stock hand-woven outfits while the other section will be the readymade section offering fabrics that are shrunk before the finished product is ready.

"This is done so that the fabric doesn't shrink further and the customers don't have complain about shrinking fabrics. And as for the colours, we have outfits for festivals so we have used bright and vibrant colours like red, yellow, green, magenta, golden, silver and many other colours."

This handloom fair will have 7-8 counters and the best part is that they have outfits available in all sizes, colours and prints. This handloom fair has been exhibiting in the city for the past 10 years and is looking forward to this exhibition this year as well. And for the summers, they plan to come back again and exhibit summer wear in light shades.
