Karma Youtso, deputy secretary to Chief Minister of Sikkim Pawan Chamling,u00a0 came to the city recently from Gangtok to file a police complaint. However, it was notu00a0 on official business, but to file a complaint againstu00a0 a city chef who allegedly kidnapped her sister.
In her complaint with Koramangala police, Youtso alleged that Ugen Choden (26), her sister, who's a nun and is pursuing a course at Bylakuppe, had visited Bangalore recently.
She told cops that Choden was staying with friends in Koramangal Block-I and was working as an executive in a telemarketing company. She was in regular touch with her, but when she didn't receive any call from Choden, she sensed trouble and came down to the city.u00a0
u00a0 Youtso added that when she enquired with her sister's friends, she discovered that she was dating Praveen, a chef, working at Bhagini Restaurant in Koramangal.
On enquiring further, Youtso found out that Praveen had also not reportedu00a0 to work from the day her sister allegedly went missing. She accused Praveen of abducting Ugen and requested the police to track her down.
Based on her complaint, the cops swung into action and learnt that Choden and Praveen had got married.
K Nagraj, police inspector of Koramangal police station, said, "It is case of possible elopement. In such cases, families generally lodge a complaint of kidnapping."
