When Bollywood stars talked about their ex-lovers
With Salman Khan often mentioning ex-flame Katrina Kaif at every opportunity he gets, we take a look at other former lovers of Bollywood who still talk about each other...
Maintaining relationships is a demanding task. Even more challenging is getting out of a split. They say that the wise thing to do is forget the past and move on, but it is only easier said than done. While there are many who leave no opportunity to take a dig at their ex-flames, there are some who have moved on with their lives and maintain a cordial relation with them.
Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif
Take for example, Salman Khan who is known to speak his mind and several instances in the past are proof. The actor doesn't shy away from speaking about ex-girlfriend Katrina Kaif either. Last year, the actor took a dig at Katrina when she hesitated to share the stage with him during his sister Arpita Khan's sangeet ceremony. Reportedly, Salman has said: Ok fine, not Katrina Kaif. Katrina Kapoor, please come on stage. Main kya karoon.
I gave you a chance to become Katrina Khan, but you chose to be Katrina Kapoor. This wasn't the only time when he openly spoke about Kat. Recently, while the actor was in Kashmir to shoot for 'Bajrangi Bhaijaan', he tweeted about how beautiful Kashmir is and that Katrina too belongs to the state. Last weekend as well, at an award ceremony in Dubai he sent the crowd roaring in delight when he said that he believes that he makes the best on-screen pair with Katrina Kaif. hitlist takes a look at a few such cases when actors have spoken about their former lovers:
Anushka Sharma and Ranveer Singh
Ranveer Singh and Anushka Sharma who apparently began seeing each other during 'Band Baaja Baaraat' have never admitted to being in a relationship, but till today even after working with other stars and dating other people can constantly be seen referring to each other. In an interview last month, the actor said that it was great uniting with her in 'Dil Dhadakne Do' and that she will always be special for him. Anushka on the other hand said that Ranveer is now a calmer and a less anxious person as compared to his 'Band Baaja Baaraat' days. Also, during the controversial roast session with Ranveer Singh and Arjun Kapoor, the duo took all digs at their relationship in its stride.
Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone
Post her break-up with Ranbir Kapoor, Deepika Padukone may have been linked to other actors and sport personalities but the actress is vocal about her equation with the actor till date. In one of the interviews recently, Deepika admitted that she can't hurt Ranbir and is aware that he didn't turn up for Piku's success bash with girlfriend Katrina Kaif because 'Bombay Velvet' didn't do well at the box office. Deepika also courted controversy two years ago when she commented about Ranbir-Kat's leaked holiday pictures saying, "It has never happened with me. I believe if you are a celebrity or public figure... these things are bound to happen. And I don't think you can accuse anybody of anything. If I am a public figure and if someone has captured me then I feel I should have been a little careful."
Shahid Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor Khan
Shahid Kapoor is about to tie the knot with Delhi girl Mira Rajput and Kareena Kapoor Khan is happily married to Saif Ali Khan for a few years now. However, looks like the duo's decision to work together in the upcoming film, 'Udta Punjab', has set the rumour mills abuzz about its current status. Recently at an event, when Kareena was asked about working with Shahid Kapoor she said "I know everyone is saying we are back, but the movie is like 'American Hustle'. Everyone has different tracks in the film and we aren't going to be sharing screen space. But yes, good to be working with Shahid, he has really evolved as an actor."
John Abraham –Bipasha Basu: This couple parted ways after dating each other for nine long years and marks an exception to this list. The duo who had a bitter separation apparently due to John's closeness to his then girlfriend Priya Runchal is not on cordial terms.
In several interviews Bipasha has hinted that it was foolish of her to stand behind the man she loved. Two years ago when asked about John Abraham, Bips quickly responded by saying, "John who? I don't know this person." Bips even refused to acknowledge a common friend who was introduced to her by John.
